RakWeb Call (Phone-to-Phone)

RakSMS Call (Phone-to-Phone using sms-text messaging)

Rak-Rak Call ( PC-to-PC/mobile-to-mobile) – always FREE

Rak-Rak Call refers to the calls made from one computer to another computer using Raketu. It is provided at no cost or limit to communicate between Raketu users. These calls are possible for people who have registered and downloaded Raketu application. Make sure to set up your headset, microphone and speakers in order to start a Rak-Rak Call. Steps to initiate a Rak-Rak Call:

1. Login to Raketu’s application and add your friend’s RakID to your contact list.
2. Right click on the online username located in your contact list. You will see a menu providing several advanced options.
3. Click on the first option, “Call/DialOut”.

RakOut Call (PC-to-phone, Mobile-to-phone)

RakOut Call refers to the outgoing calls made from a computer using Raketu’s application to landlines or mobile phones and is provided at high quality and very low rates. RakOut is a prepaid service. For PC download Raketu program, for Mobile download mobile version.

Steps to initiate a RakOut Call:

1. Login to Raketu’s application.
2. Click on Communications-> Make a RakOut call (DialOut).
3. Enter the phone number of the person you wish to talk to.
4. Click on the Call/Dial Out button to initiate the call. To end the call, click on the End Call button.

How to dial phone numbers:

US or Canada numbers (AreaCode + the number).For example New York: 212xxxxxxx

All other countries (phone numbers outside US or Canada),(011+CountryCode+AreaCode+the number). For example London: 01144xxxxxxxxxx

RakWeb Call refers to the phone connection of two landlines or mobile phones using Raketu’s RakWeb service. There is no need to install Raketu’s application. RakWeb is a completely web-based service that allows users to do almost everything that the Raketu application offers. RakWeb is synchronized with Raketu’s application. Therefore, any changes you make in RakWeb will be reflected in Raketu’s application and vice versa. You are required to have an existing account with Raketu in order to enjoy RakWeb services. Once you login to your account from Raketu’s website, the RakWeb homepage will be displayed immediately. Now make RakWeb Calls, send SMS and much more…

Steps to initiate a RakWeb Call:

1. Once you have successfully logged in and purchased credits, go to the Make a RakWeb Call section and enter your telephone number in the Call From field. You are going to receive the call on this phone.
2. Then, enter the phone number you wish to call in the Call To field. Click on CALL to initiate the call between the two phones.

How to dial phone numbers:

RakSMS Call (Phone-to-Phone using sms-text messaging)

Think of a situation when you don‘t have a computer or internet connection, and you want to make a international call using Raketu’s low rates. All you have is a phone, which allows you to send an SMS. RakSMS calling feature will allow you to make this call. All you need to do is send an SMS in the required format to assigned number and we will connect the call for you.

How to make a phone-to-phone call using sms-text messaging:

One-time Set up:

1. The user must have an active Raketu account, with RakID and a pre-paid balance.
2. Enter a PIN NUMBER (PIN is NOT your password), which is 4 characters in length and may be entered by logging into the Raketu.com website, going to the "Your Profile" page, and near the bottom you will find the entry for the PIN NUMBER
3. You can visit the RakSMS Calling information page, where a list of countries with the corresponding Raketu sms-text numbers are found. To make a RakSMS call you need to find the SMS number listed under your country and your phone/network provider. Please check with your phone service/network provider to determine what format is required to send an SMS to the country code 61, 44 or 45. They will guide you with the required prefix (if required) that needs to be added before sending this SMS. Currently there are three numbers to send SMS to. However going forward we will provide local SMS numbers to make RakSMS calls.

Making the call:

1. Enter only the call information into the SMS-Text message in the following format:

   RakID PIN CALL_FROM CALL_TO

   Example: JohnA 4434 011447785552222 12128886666

   This will setup to make a call for the Raketu user JohnA, who has the PIN of 4434 in his profile, between the phone numbers in UK 011447785552222 and USA number 12128886666.

   Format of the phone number inside text message:

   US or Canada numbers (AreaCode + the number).For example New York: 212xxxxxxx

   All other countries (phone numbers outside US or Canada),(011+CountryCode+AreaCode+the number). For example London: 01144xxxxxxxxxx

2. Enter the sms number from the Raketu website that corresponds to your country – you are going to be sending the sms text message to that number.
3. Send the sms-text message, the message is received, authenticated, and the call is setup between the 2 phones. NOTE: you will be charged by your mobile carrier for the sms-text message you are sending at their regular rates – which may be free or maybe charged depending on your mobile plan.
4. The call between the 2 phones will be charged at the regular RakWeb Calling rates, and is eligible for free minute calling – see website for details.
